If this is a picture of a hotel, where's the couple laughing and frolicking and touching stomachs?

Belmont Club considers Obama and the Peter Principle.

But I see no signs of competence at lesser jobs.

Some other principle entirely is at work.

My own theory is that it's a media crisis. The narrative no longer works on the rubes still watching TV.

But they have managed to mute all discussion of the biggest constitutional crisis of our time. The POTUS is a Non Natural Born Citizen Usurper (his father was never a US citizen, no matter where Obama 2 was born). Media and Congress are complicit in this act of treason, and idiot supposed conservatives abet them, in fear of the "birther" label, and think that anchor babies are Natural Born Citizens, eligible to be POTUS. What happends when AZ. disallows "birthright" citizenship to children of aliens (there should be no such thing anyway)? Are only the ones from AZ not eligible? This will turn the nonsense Native born equals Natural Born argument on it's ear. If it goes to the SCOTUS, the dicta of the case could declare the Usurper de facto ineligible. Where are the suppposed constitutional law professors? Have they been threatebed and told to shut up? Or are they afraid of being tagged a "birther" (and since when is a pic on a website proof of anything).

I dont know why peeps keep bringing that up. Even if you're right, no one is going to impeach Obama over his birth status.

All it does is suck oxygen out of the room and make his opponents look ridiculous.

All the Lefties' brilliant ideas about how the campaign in Iraq should have been run are being tried in A-Stan and getting our guys killed.

Why not impeach him for that?

Or maybe the fact that MMS knew there was a potential for Deepwater Horizon to blow as early as February, and The Zero sat on his hands when he could have moved containment equipment to the Gulf, had a waiver of the Jones Act, ready for signature, etc.?

Nonfeasance and misfeasance (not to mention malfeasance) in office would do as grounds for impeachment.

re: Belmont Club, I'll go with 2. but combined with 3. and the disastrous prospect of the Chinese beating the WH to the punch on picking over BP bones creating a PR nightmare. The Chinese have the cha-ching.
Chinese oil rivals smell blood in BP disaster
Opportunistic oil companies are circling over BP assets as oil-spill costs mount

With the stupid moratorium we will be increasing our trade deficit by having to increase oil imports.
With lots of oil being taken off the world market and placed under private contacts primarily with the Chinese, we are ultimately the losers.

Prepare for eventual oil shortages impairing US recovery and growth, rationing and higher prices in essential goods.

Right. Those who want to uphold the constitution are the ones that you say look ridiculous? The whole political system is committing treason (along with the abetting media), but it's nothing to worry about? I am educating people because people like Prof. Althouse will not, and people like you are too thick to know any better.
Impeachment is not the avenue to remove the Usurper for ineligibility. It is Quo Warranto in the DC District.

BP Oil Disaster Costs U.S. State Pensions $1.4 Billion in Value

Will taxpayers be on the hook to supplement public pensions already deficient?

I go to bed, come back in the morning, find the Professor has posted some pictorial poetry again and you poop on it with more bad news.

Phew.

Apparently General McChrystal is no longer willing to go along to get along. Or answering to clowns.

But he's late, too late for the soldiers killed in Afghanistan because of the suicidal Rules of Engagement.

Funniest thing I heard today was about that Pakistani terrorist (U.S. citizen, shouldn't be) who tried to blow up Times Square. He was in the courtroom yesterday, defiantly pleading guilty and claiming to be a "Muslim soldier." The part that made me laugh: The judge's name is Miriam Cedarbaum. A Jewish woman judge! How do you like THEM apples, Faisal?!

McChrystal has done a McArthur.

You're no patriot. If you were, you'd be praying that each shot be a hole-in-one, a feat that is not beyond the many diverse powers of the POTUS.

KCFleming said...

Damn McChrystal for distracting the President, who needs to focus on sinking the next putt.

I'm sure the press/Left will make a martyr of McChrystal as they did of Shinseki.

"You're no patriot. "

The President, in his grand beneficence, holds off from holing every tee shot so as not to embarrass his fellow players by his brilliant and effortless play, so great is his compassion.

Truman fired McArthur for talking out of turn. Is McChrystal Obama's McArthur? From the Truman Museum and Library website:

In 1951, President Truman and his advisors were preparing to engage North Korea and China in peace negotiations, in an attempt to resolve the ongoing conflict. General Douglas MacArthur, the commander of the U.N. forces in Korea, issued an unauthorized statement containing a veiled threat to expand the war into China if the Communist side refused to come to terms. When MacArthur continued to support an expansion of the war, communicating directly with a like-minded Republican congressman, Truman, with the backing of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as the Secretaries of State and Defense, felt they had no alternative but to replace MacArthur with a military commander who would act in concert with the administration’s foreign policy. On April 11, 1951, President Truman relieved MacArthur of his command.

Although recalling a subordinate for insubordination was the right thing to do, not all of Congress or the general public saw it that way:

Truman’s mistake, according to Rovere and Schlesinger, was not the dismissal of MacArthur, but rather was, "a failure in political education. … He made all the necessary decisions with great and simple courage; but he … lacked the gift of illuminating them so that the people as a whole could understand their necessity."

Truman is starting to look like the President Obama most closely resembles.

Why shouldn't Obama golf to relax?Ike golfed an average of two rounds a week throughout his Presidency, despite the ever-present threat of nuclear Holocaust.

KCFleming said...

"Why shouldn't Obama golf to relax?"

He should relax and relax and relax.

Meanwhile, he should criticize the BP execs for going yachting.

And relax, even though Obama "will not rest until....", for we know that is metaphorical.

I think he should golf even more than he already does. Clearly he needs to relax.

KCFleming said...

He should take more naps, too.

Being President is hard.

Damn McChrystal for distracting the President, who needs to focus on sinking the next putt.

So...which gulf-golf needs his focus, and when will his gulf-golf reflect improvement?

McChrystal voted for BO and is now baffled by his incompetence. sound familiar?

I don't envy anyone who has to explain military matters to a community organizer.

I can hardly wait for Michael Yon's take to this. He's is a big McChrystal critic and was denied an embed by Mc himself.

KCFleming said...

"...and when will his gulf-golf reflect improvement?"

When He achieves maximal relaxation, enlightenment will be heralded by the sun breaking through the clouds, and then the rise of the oceans will begin to slow, the oil will no longer billow from fathoms deep, and our planet will begin to heal.

fls,

Obama isn't fit to shine Truman's shoes.

The Democrats' trouble with Truman is that he was not [faux] aristocratic enough for them.

I'm curious about the shoe spam that showed up right after people talked about Truman's shoes. (Are there any around still? The man's been dead for 30+ years)

If I write something about luxury watches, Rolex watches with diamonds, will watch spam appear next?

I will watch.

McCrystal has leverage. The threat of Quo Warranto to challenge Obama's eligibility as a Natural Born Citizen (Obama Sr. was never a citizen)if he is fired.
