"The members of our 2011 list of wealthiest fictional characters have an average net worth of $9.7 billion..."

"... up 20% from last year."

Related: "Why so Few Women on the Forbes Fictional 15?"
Our fictional reporters — the best in the business — have worked hard to rectify the gender imbalance, even breaking Fictional 15 rules against folkloric characters (the Tooth Fairy appeared on the 2010 list), but the gap persists.... What do you think is going on here?
I'd say they're not getting equal pay for equal... evil.

Octopussy is generally described as "fabulously wealthy." She may not be rich enough for Forbes, but any list is better when it includes "Octopussy."

You mean they didn't count Queen Elizabeth? You think she's a pauper?

Hard as it is to believe that there's still a British monarch, QE2 isn't quite fictional.

I'm actually enough of a comic book geek to know that the lsat time Marvel published an issue that gave Tony Stark's net worth, they said it was about $150 Billion and Charles Xavier's was about $3.5 Billion.

I realize it's a made up list about fictional characters but I think if they're going to do it, they should have a fan write the list and try to use sourced numbers rather than just pulling it out of their arse.

Keep in mind, fictional females are all about sex appeal or being in distress.

Captainesses of industry or media moguls they usually ain't.

Reminds me of this exchange from My Name is Earl:

Earl: The Beverly Hillbillies?
Randy: They're super rich.
Earl: They're pretend Randy, just like Richie Rich and Donald Trump. They're just TV characters.
Randy: Well, The Jeffersons are real right? 'Cause we saw Mr. Jefferson at the boat show last year. Remember, we paid him a dollar to say "Weezie".

"What do you think is going on here?" Writers aren't writing about rich fictional women. Duh.

There is a fictional stereotype of the trophy wife, but where is the trophy widow? These women deserve their own genre.
