"Political women can’t shake their attraction to bright shades of red and blue because of the subtext of patriotism."

"Teenagers dart from one aesthetic tribe to another in search of the most comfortable fit. Rarely do people create their own style vocabulary."

As if fashion had meaning.

Such colors are also flattering on a great number of women.

Yeah. The subtext of patriotism.
You've convinced me with your clever words. I'm thinking the same for all animals with rods and cones in their eyes. Like birds. Eagles are patriotic, so I think the debate is closed.

I like red! But I should wear blue.

People with good taste don't chase fashion, they develope their own personal style, perferably a conservative timeless American one.

You should check out the Sartorialist at Althouse's link. On that site everything is cool and fashionable. It's like international people of Walmart except all the people are skinny. Which is the chief qualifier of fashion when you think about it.

Took 15 minutes checking out the Satorialist, the best dressed seemed to be in vintage photos. Yes, the fashion models are skinny, clown costumes drape better on them.

The Blonde likes me in red, yellow (especially yellow), orange, and bright blue.

This is why I'm skeptical of women having the vote. They're all about feel.

@Ed

My wife did me the same way. Made me stop wearing my team gear, tee-shirts, blue jeans. And then I realized she was right(always a good idea to realize your wife is right) I helped her pick "my" colors, and I've got to say, I do look better. Always picked blue because it was my team and my favorite color, but with my coloring. I'm a earth tone...specifically green.

So I gave the kids all my UK stuff(a lot of stuff) and bought Dockers with pleated fronts (the pleats are a neccessity for me, my boys need the room), brown suede shoes, and a lot of green, and dark colors, made of natural fibers.(it does make a difference). No shorts, but the I never wore them, and my wedding ring and other accutremont is silver.(gold makes me look sickly)

And when I dress in my all black power suit, with either black or silver tie, I look stunning.(does that sound gay?)

Or a priest, I look like a priest, too.(does that sound gay?)

So listen to your wife's, girlfriends, daughters(well not daughters), everyone will be happier. Especially them. 'Cause if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
