"The 100 Greatest Movie Compliments Of All Time."

A little NSFW at times, but highly enjoyable (and an answer to the famous "100 Greatest Movie Insults of All Time").

Walking through life with you, madam, has been a very gracious thing.

Doesn't get no better than that.

Is Nicholas Cage the worst actor ever or what?!

You've never seen George Clooney, have you?

ricpic said...

I didn't think Clooney was bad in that airplane movie the title of which escapes me.

Greatest compliment never filmed: Is that a gerbil in your pants or are you happy to see me?...oh, that's true, with a gerbil in your pants your completely self-sufficient, so why would you be happy to see me?...well, self sufficient except for the gerbil.

Oy, your should be you're.

On only a semi related note, I happened to catch the first few minutes or so of Pal Joey last night. Damn, Sinatra was cool.

There is a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. 'Twould be a pity to ruin those.

I just assumed that was in there, and it is.

Is this the best Hollywood can do? How very depressing.
Must be easy to get laid in your country, however.

NSFW...so I put on headphones. Gulp. I didn't think about what the visuals might be.

Scott M said...

"You make me want to be a better man." That's got to be in there.

As well as...

"You complete me."

I'll check later as I don't have time at the moment.

Patrick said...

ScottM- they're both there.

Look at those endorsements, will ya? William Tecumseh Sherman, Phil Sheridan, and U-lysses S Grant, President of these United States. There's three aces for you.

Yes, sir, but I kinda wished you coulda been a-holdin' a full hand.

Wha?

Robert E Lee. Sir

PS The greatest compliment in movies was written by someone else:

Though I've belted you and flayed you,
By the Living God that made you,
You're a better man than I am,
Gunga Din.

I could only get about 15% through it.

I'd rather spend all the ages of the world listening to one mediocre insult uttered over and over again than spend even one moment enduring the sweetest voice known to man as it utters the greatest compliment ever spoken.

YES! he got into acting due to nepotism. How many have?

Hey, edutcher, your Gunga Din quote - I was going to say that. That would have been in my top 20.

Well, I made it through three minutes. Perhaps it gets better.

A bunch of swear words does not a good insult make, much less a great one.

Now here is a good insult--

Cora Munro: Duncan, you are a man with a few admirable qualities, but taken as a whole, I was wrong to have thought so highly of you.

Astro said...

I always liked one of Groucho's insults: 'I have nothing but respect for you - and not much of that.'
