Did anyone watch the Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates' debate?

Noticing that the election is tomorrow, I wondered aloud, "Did the candidates ever debate?" And then, having googled, "Oh! There was a debate!" I kind of think that if I didn't notice and watch it, nobody did. Here's an article about it. I feel that I know what the article will say before reading it: Both candidates asserted that they would decide cases according to the law and that political preferences would have absolutely no effect, and both cited judicial temperament and long experience as their qualification.
"I don't see it as the job of the Supreme Court justice to be for or against any political policy," [Justice Ann Walsh] Bradley said. "Our only agenda is to uphold the Constitution and serve the people of this state."

Rock County Circuit Judge James Daley called Bradley an "activist judge" and himself a "dinosaur," saying that he was for traditional judicial standards. ... "I'm running because I'm not an activist jurist," Daley said....

Daley, a former prosecutor, often went into details of the law, sometimes halting briefly as he cited cases and legal terms. Bradley, a former Marathon County judge, was more fluid and used folksier language and broad examples.
Just as I suspected... although I didn't predict the haltingly legalistic vs. fluidly folksy distinction. Whether that characterization is accurate, I don't know. I haven't watched the debate. But I will. It's streamable here.

So you're saying that as the incumbent and favorite to win re-election, Justice Bradley didn't choke in this debate?

Daley is one of the judges that authorized the John Doe investigation into Walker's campaign coordinating with outside groups. He's a defendant in the case. AWKWARD.

How did you come up with that interpretation?

@garage I'm not seeing anything of substance in that. I hate voting for judges and the whole charade of these campaigns. But do you have anything useful to say?

I assume Chuck is making a play-on-words reference to the Wisconsin Supreme Court choking incident.

Thank you, IiB.

There are very few jokes that go over the Professor's head like that.

Opening day jitters, probably.

Professor-

As much as I disagree with garage, impostors should not be putting words ( or paste ) in his mouth. I would recommend deleting such posts when you see them, and suggest you request that people not engage in that sort of deception on your blog.

More than the dull troll who follows me around posting as me on your blog.

And the lefties are using this fact to prove just how slimy and dishonest they are

It's so dishonest to point verifiable facts. Gawd!

Really, he is a defendent in the John Doe case?

They what the perception to be that Daley is a defendent along with Walker...which is of course untrue.

Ever notice how all the "dysfunctional court" stories disappear when a lefty judge is up for reelection?

Really. So your "liberal witch hunt" blather was always nonsense.

I don't get it. You used the word "fact." Suddenly, lies are facts somehow?

Seriously? Did you look at the link?

Daley is "a defendant" in the suit by the CFG against the John Doe II prosecutors. Along with Chisholm, and the rest of DNC slimeballs. That would be looked upon favorable by Democratic voters. But it doesn't meet the narrative. So they paint a picture to get low info voters to think that he's being prosecuted in the John Doe "probes"...a defendant".

Really not that hard to figure out.

Contra Curious George, John Doe II investigation is a bipartisan affair. . But that doesn't fit HIS narrative, so he throws up sand whenever the subject comes up.

It's not, but that is moot to my point that the left is trying to paint Daley as a participant in the illegal activities, not as a supporter of the probes.

Has garage ever had anything useful to say? I vote NO!

Scott Walker John Doe investigation!

Must mention it as least once a day or people will forget.

Strange- maybe even impossible - that a troll can post from the exact same blogger account as the original garage mahal.

No more lies please.

The eat paste comment came from a different account. Different accounts can have the same name. If you hover over the name, the links show different blogger ids, and if you follow the links you can see that the accounts were created at different times.

It is hard sometimes to tell. I've seen comments with garage's name on them that were so stupid I assumed that it was his troll trying to make him look bad, only to find out that it was from his real account. So always check the link.

Strange indeed.

I've often wondered how Wisconsin ever got a reputation as place with clean transparent governance? Must be the proximity to that genuinely foul shit hole of corruption like Illinois/Chicago/Cook County. WI pols even the one's in robes appear to be every bit as petty, boorish, inane, and retarded as everywhere else.

I would have been really perplexed had Ignorance Is Bliss not provided the explanation in advance. Thanks for helping to further highlight garage's dishonesty.
