But isn't that Purple Loosestrife, an invasive weed?

Yes, but it's the prettiest invasive weed anywhere.

If the other plants were armed, they could take out those invaders.

Do you also have invasive ducks and invasive cranes?

Coconuss Network said...

Pretty flowers.

JAORE said...

Dang Mad Man, beat me to it. That stuff is a real problem. But most invasive species are problematic.

I have purple loosestrife in my garden. It was a plant I got from my grandmother 20 years ago and she had had it forever. Apparently, sterilized versions were sold in garden stores back in the day. I understand that even the sterilized versions are now "illegal" but this plant really is sterile. I'm familiar with plants moving around the garden (Solomon Seal, Jack-In-the-Pulpit, Bloodroot, pop up everywhere) but even though this plant makes copious seeds I have never seen a volunteer. I love it and the the bumblebees adore it.

I have it on good authority that Obama has directed the immigration service not to deport this plant unless it commits a felony.

MadisonMan said...

@Original Mike, I'm envious. Maybe Green with envy.

I like the look of Purple Loosestrife. But as you say, you can't get it.

Here's a plant I do recommend: night-scented stock (Matthiola longipetala). Teeny flowers, powerful night-time sweet-smelling scent. I am hoping it re-seeds itself. We'll see next Spring.

MadisonMan - I'd give you some, but then I'd be guilty of trafficking.

It is a beautiful lake.

Perhaps, since Madison is such a caring city, someone should put a dozen or so big wind turbines in the middle of it.

That would improve the view for those who think carbon is a thing.

Sorry about the Paisley Loserstress.

The Lafayette terrorist hates liberals and Obama. Likes neo-nazis, Rand Paul, and the Tea Party. Where are the condemnations from conservatives?

Happy now?

The Lafayette terrorist also condemned liberals and Obama. But hey, you can condemn anyone you want.

Go, run to the doctor, quick.

You need a humor implant. Perhaps the doc can pull your head out of your ass while you are there.

These pictures don't look very urban, imho. And, can you really be considered urban if "Best of Enemies" isn't going to be shown in your metropolis?

That's what being urban is about, isn't it.

Sprezzatura said...

btw, I read that the con killer was hoping BHO would win reelection because that would speed up some sort of Mad Max revolution.

Before some cons were counting on the rapture in Israel, now some of them are looking for Mad Max in the States. That ideology attracts some real dead enders.

Sprezzatura said...

Unlike rapture cons and terror Muslims, when libs think about world destruction (e.g. climate change), they try to stop it.

Far right extremists in the middle east and here in the U.S. can produce some, uh, explosive results.

Not to worry; lefty prosecutors will keep them in check.

Yeah ARM, he was in an out of mental institutions too. So I can see how you would seize on his ravings as somehow logical. I knew a kid who became a paranoid schizophrenic when he turned 20, I am sure you could use his intellectual authority to back up many of your views too.

So was he slavishly pro Israel too?

tim in vermont said...

By the way, the club of people who hate liberals is pretty broad and diverse and includes many on the far left. Have you ever learned any logic?

Rusty said...

Tim. Your talking about our resident mouth breathers. Logic is some kind of magic to them.
How did a schizoid get a firearm?
I'd be very interested in hearing ARMs solution to this if he can remain on topic.

Stopping the hatred of liberals would seem to be a good place to start.

Beloved Commenter AReasonableMan said...

Maybe Rush, Hannity and Mark Levine could make a public service announcement. They could say something like this - "Ya know folks, all that stuff we said about liberals, we just made it up. We've got to a make living too. Liberals are good people, not Nazis."

I think that would help.

There are several lakes in Minneapolis alone that are better than this Wingra cesspool. What a pitifully myopic and provincial view from an old woman afraid to travel.

From Mr. Hausers mouth.

I accepted this it came to me that the president is doing exactly what Tim McVeigh did, only the president is much more effective. The way I see it,the faster he wrecks this nation, which in no way resembles what it’s founders envisioned, the faster working people with morals may re-assume command.ie I was for his re-election. I like his spending habits.etc……

Are you schizoid too ARM.

You hate ARM. I'm contantly amused by the ability of the left to suspend reason.

You hate ARM.

A. You ignore all the hate on the airwaves from the right. Have you ever actually listened to Savage Nation or Mark Levine? They are a disgrace.
B. You have no evidence for this statement, only your own delusions.

Rusty said...

A)You don't see the hate you espouse. How can you see it in others?
And No. I don't know who those people are.
B)Oh. I get all the evidence I require right here.(Thanks Ann) I think you'll find I'm the least deluded person you're likely to run into.

It's only extraordinary if you're a liberal. Normal people find me quite charming in a confrontational kind of way.

Beloved Commenter AReasonableMan said...

Delusional people, living in a world of their own, often are charming, so you have failed to provide any proof.

Rusty said...

Proof of what? That you're delusional? Your posts speak for themselves. That being the case it would be s difficult task indeed to offer up reason to someone who suspends reason as a matter of course.

Shall we discuss how well the economy is doing?
