It's Black Friday.

I hope you'll do some of your shopping through The Althouse Amazon Portal.

Despite the increasing possibility that you are "the enemy,", I have been using "the portal."

LOL.

Tank is an idiot.

I think I''m too old to begin buying things on line.

Did so. Christmas presents are on their way to parents of deserving young relatives.

Sort of.

Warning to other Amazon shoppers -- the order where I asked for gift wrapping still hasn't shipped though it was placed last Monday. Orders placed more recently but without gift wrap are already on their way. There's time, of course, but you might not want to spend the money on gift wrapping if you let yourself get too close to Christmas.

I used the Althouse Amazon portal to purchase a Kindle version of Barry Goldwater's "Conscience of a Conservative".

The book may be 50+ years old, but the issues still read like today's newspaper.

Hammond was wrong about the set of Global kitchen knives from Amazon. Thought they would be the "last kitchen knives we would ever need." Ms. Gritzkofe said the GS-7 paring spear, which she uses for so many jobs, has a blade rather tall for some work. Nothing for it but to go for the GS-38.

We don't much buy stuff just because it is "on sale," but I can tell you this: In a town of 10,000, a County of 20,000, it is *really nice* to be able to look for, compare, and order needed items from a desk. Beats a day spent driving all over three counties.

Buying online simply redistributes the dumb folks driving around in parking lot traffic to smart folks driving UPS and FedEx trucks into the neighborhood.

The only hard part of this new fangled Amazon Portal shopping is having to open the front door and pick up a cardboard shipping box.

Anything under about 2 ft^3 and 10 lb seems to come to the Post Office box, a trip we make everyday anyhow.

Color Correction: It was a purple Friday when the Fort Worth train whistles blew to chants of TCU,TCU,TCU! Too bad about that, big bad Baylor.
