Tone.

My last 2 posts are about the tone of other people's posts. And even that first post of the day today is about tone, though unlike the other 2 posts, it doesn't use the word "tone." Don't put your head in the sand? Definitely don't put anything to eat near that fence! Perhaps it reminds you of Sullivan? At least it wasn't wearing shorts...

A queer bird?

Kidding.

Oh, I think I'm identifying with the bird, not seeing the bird as attacking me.

If only that bird had Maxine to coach it in how to extricate itself from the chain link that binds its beak...

A nasty tempered creature whose evolutionary niche is no longer its world? A chick out of time and place?

That poor thing. Sometimes, when he pecks the chainlink, someone gives him something, or pokes at him, or otherwise reacts. Today ... Oh, he is so disappointed. He pecked and pecked, and no one did anything or said anything to him. Only a little girl who was running some commentary, probably leftover from the bears or the rhinos, and she wasn't talking to HIM! So he gave up, and walked off. Maybe someone on the other side of the habitat would care. Would react.

Are you just a bird in a gilded cage?

Riddle me this.

When is an Althouse like a caged ostrich?

Hmmm...

Where's the Bat computer when you need it.

I know why the caged bird bites.
