How it looked in the Capitol rotunda at 2 p.m. on Sunday as the anti-Scott Walker protests continue.

Note the banner: "Stewart/Colbert/We came to your rally/NOW come to OURS!"

“Revolutions everywhere–in the middle east, in the middle west. But there is a difference: in the middle east, the protesters are marching for democracy; in the middle west, they’re protesting against it. I mean, Isn’t it, well, a bit ironic that the protesters in Madison, blocking the state senate chamber, are chanting “Freedom, Democracy, Union” while trying to prevent a vote? Isn’t it ironic that the Democratic Senators have fled the democratic process? Isn’t it interesting that some of those who–rightly–protest the assorted Republican efforts to stymie majority rule in the U.S. Senate are celebrating the Democratic efforts to stymie the same in the Wisconsin Senate?”

Looks like the same bunch of college kids and dead enders that I saw there last night.

Annie, baby! It's spelled "Stewart", as the banner correctly notes, not "Steward".

Trivial matter, but if you want to prove those defending teachers are stupider than you, it might be a good idea to get that spelling thing down, as you did before.

Oh and BTW, you're welcome.

So, if rhe union members are the "We" in "We are WI", then I guess everyone else is what?

sane_voter said...

So is the rotunda emptied of protesters every night or are they sleeping in there? I think it would be great if the tea party took over the rotunda at least one day.

wv: crobbers. cheesehead robbers, see union employees in Wisconsin.

I thought it was re-named The Scrotunda in honor of its new residents, the featherbedders.

I have to post again just because the new word verification is so perfect.

wv: dicut. How Wis. union members describe the Governor's plan

wimps, you should be outside

Not a bit. The Left destroyed language many years ago, see Orwell on the subject. On the Left the terms freedom and democracy have no connection to their traditional meanings. They might as well be speaking in tongues.

They are sleeping inside the building.

As I recall, at the April 15,2010 Tea Party they allowed very few of the participants to even enter the building and no one could carry signs... but then Democrats were in charge.

As Obama put it, we won the election.

Now it's the other side's turn.

I'm not sure why this isn't understood by the Demos.

Glad to hear the protestors know their place: Comedy Channel

Unknown said...

Oh, what will they do when their comedy heroes can't make it to frozen Wisconsin?

Please, Ann, get a couple of shots of the halls so we can see how neat the protestors are - and maybe a shot of the bathrooms; I'll bet they're immaculate.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

If there's one thing conservatards have on the libtards it's clean bathrooms. God love 'em.

I vote conservatard just for the cleanliness of their bathrooms. It's a core issue for me. That and the neatness of Reagan's Brylcreem-laden hair part. Very orderly people.

I assume Jon Stewart will condemn the protests due to the use of dehumanizing Nazi analogies and violent imagery.

That was point of his whole "civility" schtick these past few months. Right?

Otherwise I may start to think that the whole thing was merely done in an attempt to prevent criticism of those politicians he supports.

We shall oversleep.

LOL. No doubt.

Attention, people of the adopted rotunda: GO HOME!

Presumably, you have lives separate from hanging on every word of your union rep!

Did it ever occur to ALL OF YOU that the only thing that separates you from a union thug beatdown is the $1000 per year protection money (dues) that is vacuumed from your paycheck?

You all are a bunch of RUBES!!!!

The beating to death of Godwin's Law here has got to stop.

First, they called Bush Hitler, and nobody said a word....

Then, they called Cheney Hitler, and nobody said a word...

Then, they called Palin Hitler, and nobody said a word....

Then, they called Boehner Hitler, and nobody said a word....

Then, they called Scott Walker Hitler, and nobody said a word....

Finally, when no one was left for the Left to call Hitler except, of course, Hitler, there was no one left to object but Hitler. And he shot himself in the bunker in 1945, but not before channeling Scott Walker His Bad Self in a forlorn effort to find the Missing Democratic Senators!

Remember, liberals, every time you abuse Hitler in an argument, God kills a Domo-kun.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

I love the irony of protesting an instance of Godwin's law with the famous Niemoeller quote. Pretty rich, that.

For the record, Boehner cries a lot more than Hitler did.

So, seeing that Althouse corrected her misspelling of John "Stewart's" name, is she going to give me, a humble worker/commenter in her glorious blog enterprise, the credit I deserve?

To refuse to do so will not go over well for people who wish to challenge the rights of workers.

Toad Trend said...

@C4

What kind of a 'worker' are you?

Do tell.

Public union thugs. You will not control the messaging fascist.

Putting the merits of this particular case aside, I am glad to see middle- and working-class people start to rebel against the falling living standards caused by our current trade and immigration policies. Our governing class is guided by a callous cosmopolitanism that bodes ill for the future unless the take heed.

Alex said...

callous cosmopolitanism

Code phrase for "Jewish bankers".

CoffeeNut said...

This "worker" crap gets on my nerves. It has such a communist ring to it. I prefer employee.

The old man with the sign about America being No.1 when unions were strong, has got it ass backwards. America was No. 1 until unions got strong.
Unions kill every host they infect.

I contributed an important editing role for Althouse's blog, she took the advice, and refused to credit me for it.

That's just like the typical jerk boss who relies on you to fix their f-ups, and then refuses to credit you for it.

I assure you I have not profited nearly as handsomely as Althouse has from her own blog. Or at all.

Someday you'll learn how the concept of pay structure figures in to corporate organization.

Only an insecure boss steals credit from their underlings like that.

I like how Alex considers spell-checking advice, especially when taken, a form of "message control". Lol.

Ritmo, How about a 50% raise and an extra 365 days off every year in recognition of your exceptional effort and valued work around here. It's the union way. Now go home and wait for your check like a good government toady.

I hope my speaking truth to power does not offend you or your superiors.

So thats it? You're an editor?
You hold a grudge against Ann?

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

I hold no grudge. I just think it's important to point out dishonorable behavior.

Let them stay over night. Just ban blankets, sleeping mats, pillows, etc.

let the marble floors do the rest.

Funny, in a city named after the Father of the Constitution [I just finished reading Ron Chernow's Washington which has a chapter on Madison camping out at Mt. Vernon in 1786 to persuade the Father of the Country to get on board with the Philly Convention Jemmie was trying to gin up], the Dems are 180 degrees opposed to what Madison wanted most, the hands-off by the Feds in all but the very most national of issues vis-a-vis the states.

The Democrats are un-democratic. No news there. They are aping Alexander Hamilton in their statist agenda and dissing Jefferson & Madison, their putative legacy dudes in their agitprop twisted history of a sick party---which supported slavery and then segregation until living memory.

The Indonesian Imbecile is a fit leader for such a herd of cats.
