Did Sarah Palin feel a "lack of energy" in the Wisconsin GOP crowd? She "felt a lot of seriousness."

Did she think the crowd responded well to her? "Well, I think so — I didn't get booed, I dunno."

Will people now acknowledge that I have been 100% right that the Republican/conservative movement has been hijacked by hillbillies?

After decades of racist dog whistles, the hillbillies are coming home to stink up the Republican Party porch. The Republican Party has made a mockery of itself.

It is still hard to believe this twit was the Republican's candidate for Vice President eight years ago. John McCain was pandering to the right wing and everybody knew it. Disgraceful.

Now that this appears to be a leftist thread, call me when it's over.

Trump still doesn't understand Wisconsin if he's sending Palin in as a surrogate. Wisconsin Republicans have been through a lot of battles, and the battles will never end.

The Democrats are running both a Communist and a criminal traitor for the presidency and a joker above thread thinks the Republicans are the rubes and morons?

Sarah is well past her sell by due date.

"I didn't get booed" is s pretty low threshold. Maybe we're at "peak Trump" just as the conventional wisdom is that there's no such thing?

We sure did dodge that bullet, didn't we? Can you imagine her as VP? Dear Gawd. It's no surprise she is backing Trump.

@Once written, let me know when your accomplishments are a tenth hers. Nominating McCain was a mistake and choosing Palin before she was ready for prime time was a mistake -- but a lot of us were much taken aback a the backlash for her declining to abort a Downs child. One would think that "a woman's right to choose" includes choosing not to abort.

Calling people "hillbillies", and of course much worse, is what got you fellows Trump.
Even I, a foreigner in San Francisco, can see this.
Taking the beam out of your own eye is good practical advice.

The Milwaukee County GOP is filled with suburban Republicans so it's not surprising she didn't get a warm reception. Palin seems to do better with more rural and exurban people than suburban who are half Dem and half GOP. The GOP doesn't win enough of the suburban vote like they did in the 1980s so they lose states like Pennsylvania and Michigan that they used to win. Not much difference between suburban Dems, suburban GOP, and suburban independents. Life is pretty good for all of them for now.

Palin received an enthusiastic standing ovation at the end of her speech. This was a hit piece by NBC based on lies.

Palin delivered an anti-establishment speech to the Wisconsin Republican establishment. From the expression on their faces, many people in the audience were very establishment types who weren't receptive to her message, but some were. With the primary next week, these people already had chosen sides. The best Palin could hope for was to present Trump in a positive light, which she did.

I think it's amazing that a habitual ass-whip like Once Bitten thinks that the "hillbillies" are a backing a New York City billionaire who has feted & been feted by the East Coast's finest & has yet to make the conservative "moral" issues any part of his campaign.**

** The "penalty for abortion" business was total misreporting. Matthews set up a rather long & complicated hypothetical & Trump responded to it. Stupid move on Trump's part, yes, but equally dishonest on the part of the commenteriat & press.

Wisconsin people are too intellectually proud to lower themselves to the level of Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska...or of any other place, come to think of it. But Burlinton Vermont has an in crowd feel.

I acknowledge that the Democrat/progressive movement has been hijacked by fascists and a corrupt white trash grifter.

Hillary might get a big surprise from Bernie Tuesday. The young may be starting to lose interest in her. Bernie, of course, make snow sense but his supporters don't do math anyway so it doesn't matter.

Both parties are all about feelings now.

I seriously doubt that evolutionary psychology has an explanation for this sort of thing.

I cut Palin some slack because (a) she's hot; (b) as a writer at NATIONAL REVIEW correctly prophesied when she got the VP nomination, "She'll make the right people angry" ("right people" being the "liberal" Hive); and (c) pretty much every one I've heard denigrate her intelligence have been State-cultists. If you really believe--despite all the evidence of history and economics-- Big Brother is your best friend, and that the more power you let him take the better off we'll all be, you're in no position to throw stones at other people's intelligence. The average "liberal" believes buncombe and balderdash even the dumbest hillbilly wouldn't swallow.

Only the bicoastal elite (and their academic apologists everywhere) consider the white working class hillbillies. They may not be college grads but you don't need an Ivy League degree to know that your income has tanked over the last thirty years, while the dependent class has grown larger and more sullen and out-of-touch elites do nothing but watch their income and perquisites soar. We may cling to our guns and religion its true. But we need our guns to defend ourselves in the coming race war (since the cops will all be on the other side). And we cling to our religion because it's not only Islam that has a war on Christianity. The elites have been attacking us day in and day out since the sixties.

God and man at the university of Wisconsin. That is high brow William F. Buckley Conservative stuff.

No tongues speaking Evangelical country hicks need apply. So the question is how will Cruz beat Trump there? Oh, yeah. Everybody in Wisconsin is smart enough to know that Cruz is just lying about it.

The young have already lost interest in her--they'd only vote for her if she's the only option against an unacceptable Republican. Her core of support vs. Bernie is black people and Democratic moderates who can stomach a criminal sooner than a socialist.

Palin is of increasingly fading relevance. She's trying to extend her fifteen minutes, and hopefully for her she can get that Judge show on TV, but she doesn't have influence anymore.

Palin, unlike most politicians, is real. I have known politicians like her and they were great. I knew one woman who she reminds me of who read the city check register every month and asked what those items were that the city manager did not want questioned.

I had to hang up on him one time. Crooks hate people like Palin. She is always asking uncomfortable questions.

Nicole Wallace did a good job of hurting her in 2008 and the McCain staff did the rest.

They hated her. Rice bowls, you know.

Palin's primary accomplishment in office was to team up with Alaska democrats against the oil companies and the republicans they bought to get a better deal for Alaskan citizens.

Of course she is one of the prime targets to take down. She is a test. If you hate Palin you are stupid or you are a crony statist.

The Dems are afraid of Palin nonsense was somewhat amusing for about a month in 2008.

You bet'cha!

A lot of people I know who supported Palin because she seemed conservative and genuine and Christian and whatnot tried to give her the benefit of the doubt over the last few years. "She's going through tough times/lost her career because of McCain/needs to support the family."

Then she endorsed Trump and started stumping for him. Her 'natural constituency' has mostly gone Cruz, and they think she's lost her mind/soul. The don't trust her anymore. She seems like a typical Sell-out Pol, rather than a person with principles. Same with Carson.

The people who endorsed Trump better be all-in for him and better be getting some sweet deals even if he doesn't win, because they have destroyed their credibility with a lot of their fans.

As opposed to those who are still firmly attached to the federal teat.
