Jill Stein to step aside to let Bernie Sanders have the Green Party nomination.

The Green Party convention is in August.
“I’ve invited Bernie to sit down explore collaboration – everything is on the table,” she said. “If he saw that you can’t have a revolutionary campaign in a counter-revolutionary party, he’d be welcomed to the Green party. He could lead the ticket and build a political movement,” she said.
ADDED: The headline is confusing. Stein has only made an offer. It would require Sanders to accept.

Who the hell talks like that? What the fuck is the Green Party's election slogan going to be? "All power to the workers' soviets"? Are they going to call out the "wreckers & kulaks", too?

Ain't gonna happen, Bernie is dedicated to doing what he has to to stop tRump from getting anywhere near the Oval Office. He will be endorsing Clinton soon.

Speaking of people who don't reLly want to be President...
Is this off the wall? I've been seeing this all over the Internet the last few days. This Jill Stein/Green Party post reminded me of it.

http://samuel-warde.com/2016/07/donald-trump-hints-new-york-times-may-quit-wins/

More speculation on whether Donald Trump really wants the job of President or just the title.
Donald Trump doesn’t want the job of President. He wants to win the election, but he doesn’t want the actual job and the actual work that comes with it. We’ve talked about this before and it’s starting to look closer to the truth.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/08/us/politics/donald-trump-president.html?_r=4

"Presented in a recent interview with a scenario, floating around the political ether, in which the presumptive Republican nominee proves all the naysayers wrong, beats Hillary Clinton and wins the presidency, only to forgo the office as the ultimate walk-off winner, Mr. Trump flashed a mischievous smile.

“I’ll let you know how I feel about it after it happens,” he said minutes before leaving his Trump Tower office to fly to a campaign rally in New Hampshire.

Now he is refusing to rule out an even more dramatic departure, one that would let him avoid the grueling job of governing, return to his business and enjoy his now-permanent status as a news media celebrity."

Wouldn't it be wild if he was just playing you all along?

The NYT reporter asked a troll question and Trump gave one of his patented troll response. That said, best case scenario is that Trump wins, really doesn't want to be POTUS, and leaves it to his hopefully competent VP.

Look, he's 74 and in spite of whatever pablum they're feeding him about how he's going to have influence in the Democrat party, that's just a con. He'll be going to the back of the Senate chamber, again. His voters like that he's socialist and the Green party would make much more sense, anyway.

PB said...

Please excuse my language., but when it comes down to it, the two major parties have served up a menu for November consisting of two steaming, crap sandwiches. There are other choices, including the ability to write in the name of a someone. Most people are lemmings and will vote for whatever POS that's aligned with their party and then obediently say, "Please sir, may I have another?"

That's the problem with our democracy.

It is funny to watch the Hillary supporters take Bernie supporters for granted. Hillary supporters are the pariahs of the political world. Bernie supporters hate Ms. Goldman Sachs.

Hillary supporters don't really have any friends. It is hard to have friends when you have no soul.

Gahrie said...

Do you know the real reason why I want Bernie to run as a Green.....so I can give all my leftwing BernieBros friends shit when they vote for Hillary anyway.......

This got me more interested than it should have, because of the way you presented it. I thought Sanders had joined up, but from the article it doesn't sound like he is the slightest bit interested.

So, Bernie is expected to endorse Hillary? I suppose he'll reiterate how sick he is of hearing about her damn emails.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/06/politics/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-democratic-platform/

"(CNN)Bernie Sanders is poised to endorse Hillary Clinton at a campaign event Tuesday in New Hampshire, provided that final disagreements in the Democratic platform can be resolved during a weekend party meeting in Orlando, people familiar with the talks say.

For three weeks, Sanders has been steadily walking closer to throwing his full support behind Clinton, but has been withholding a formal endorsement until the platform is written. He repeated his pledge to help defeat Donald Trump again Thursday in an interview with Bloomberg View's Al Hunt.

"We have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton," Sanders said. "I don't honestly know how we would survive four years of a Donald Trump as president.""

Should Trump do whatever he can to see the the Green Party is represented in the debates?

Stein insisted that her presidential bid has a viable “near term goal” of reaching 15% in national polling, which would enable her to stand alongside presumptive nominees Clinton and Donald Trump in televised election debates.

Would the competition cost Hillary more votes on the left, or would the three-way contest allow Hillary to claim more of the center between two extremes?

When you come right down to it, not really. The Democrat Party elite did preselect their appointed candidate, and got enough of the Democrat primary voters to agree.

The presumptive Republican Party candidate was NOT picked by the elite. Indeed, it can be argued that because of the early front loaded open winner take all primaries where Trump got all the delegates with a plurality of the vote, that Trump wasn't even selected by Republican voters. But, here we are. In the ultimate lesser of two evils election. And Trump is by far and away the lesser, and getting my vote in November.

Trump won't ever be President. I doubt he'll even show up for a debate. He got cold feet debating when the group started whittling down to smaller numbers in the Primary and skipped out of that last debate. If by some fluke he would win the election he'd shit his pants and resign before even taking the oath. He knows he's in over his head. "Article XII", lol.

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2016/07/07/donald-trumps-pledge-to-defend-article-xii-of-constitution-raises-eyebrows/

To the list of eyebrow-raising moments at meetings between presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and congressional Republicans on Thursday add this: an exchange about the U.S. Constitution.

At a closed-door meeting with House Republicans, Mr. Trump took a question about the U.S. Constitution. House Republicans have been especially focused Article I, which spells out the powers granted to Congress, because of concern about overreach by the executive branch. This concern has been acute during President Barack Obama’s time in the Oval Office.

In attempting to demonstrate his reverence for the U.S. Constitution, Mr. Trump said that he supported not just Article I, but an Article XII as well. That caused some brows to furrow, because the U.S. Constitution has only seven articles.

What a laughingstock.

Yep. Americans are roaring with mirth in all 57 states.

Gotcha politics is now in session. The Pro-Choice Obama presiding.

57 states with 1 left to go. He could not visit Hawaii and Alaska.

Oh, well. He had me at redistributive change. His defense of the "final solution" (i.e. abortion rites) -- and Planned Parenthood channeling Mengele et al -- was just icing on his degenerative liberal ideology. Then came illegal progressive wars, opportunistic regimes changes, and a global humanitarian disaster.

I wonder if Obamacare was passed in preparation for the refugee crises and mass exodus from second and third-world nations.

Anyway, let's talk about the red star of the communist, atheist "jews". Losing their religion.

Great clickbait headline. Jill Stein is offering a nomination to Bernie Sanders that is not hers to offer. A month ago Mother Jones was reporting that 30% of the Green Party membership in California reregistered as Democrats to vote for Bernie Sanders. Gary Johnson is going to get the marijuana vote. Things are not looking up for the Greens.

Meanwhile Hillary is too stupid to take care with the classified information with which she is entrusted and thought that invading Libya and inflaming a civil war in Syria were good ideas.

I will take the laughing stock who doesn't appear to be a war monger, not the stupid one always looking for a pass because she is a woman and America owes her the presidency.

Hillary called Comey a liar in her interviews yesterday. Which is probably true, it wasn't "extreme carelessness" but "gross negligence" she displayed.

This election is a "dumpster fire" though, that is for sure.

Bernie will be nearly 80 in four years. It's likely that death by natural causes will overtake him soon. Regardless of who is President.

It is somewhat amusing seeing the party of Lincoln become the "Keystone Cops" ie the two major parties switching personas as Reps continue to implode.

Shiloh, the two parties have not changed personalities. I can just see the Democrats lining up to fight a war against Dixie to end slavery. No, the Democrats would be all over the young men telling them they were just doing the bidding of big corporations and sticking their nose in where they don't belong.

So pretending that the Democrats of today would have lifted a finger to end slavery as we knew it then, protected by an army willing to kill to keep it, is plain idiocy.

Except Hillary, she is a Goldwater Girl, and she started a war against Libya out of concern for the people there living under oppression, just like the Iraqis, and armed the rebels in Syria for similar reasons, just like Bush was concerned about genocide of the Swamp Arabs and use of chemical weapons against the Kurds in Iraq, but she is a bumbling fool who got behind the ISIS Spring and left millions of refugees in her wake.

Hillary is definitely a Republican in that regard.
