The woman Trump "moved on... very heavily" was Nancy O’Dell... and later he tried to fire her.

The heavy moving — which included furniture shopping — was talked about in 2005 in the now infamous "Access Hollywood" video.

Oh! "Access Hollywood" has newly conspicuous double meaning. Not just reporters getting access to celebrities, but celebrities getting sexual access to... well, to hear Trump tell it, to just about anyone they want... except Nancy O'Dell.

The attempt at firing —  O’Dell was set to host the Trump-owned "Miss USA Pageant" — came 2 years later in 2007. Trump failed at the fuck and failed at the firing. But he tried, and we hear of the failure, not the success. But he's a winner. He likes to win.

In fact, if you watch the whole video, you see him winning with another woman, Arianne Zucker, the one who, in Trump's words, is "hot as shit, in the purple." Zucker is the one who inspired him to say "I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."

And in fact, you see the female version of that power trip: The woman plays on the man's sexual interest. Grab them by the crotch. Zucker looks entirely pleased with herself, demands to walk in the center and grabs the arms of both men. If that is what is expected and that is the norm in your workplace, how can you be the cold one who keeps her sexuality to herself?

I invite you to contemplate why this got me thinking about Erica Jong's concept of the "zipless fuck":
The zipless fuck is absolutely pure. It is free of ulterior motives. There is no power game. The man is not "taking" and the woman is not "giving." No one is attempting to cuckold a husband or humiliate a wife. No one is trying to prove anything or get anything out of anyone. The zipless fuck is the purest thing there is. And it is rarer than the unicorn. And I have never had one.

A friend of mine was a Marine F 18 pilot around the time the movie "Top Gun" came out. He told me that the reaction among young women was astounding. Friday night in the Officers' Club at El Toro Marine Air Station became a free for all. He was married and not interested in the women who started showing up but one Friday he went in for a beer before going home and a young woman at the bar grabbed his crotch. He was really startled. That had never happened before.

He went home and later flew combat missions in the first Gulf War. He is now an Airline captain.

It's time for Pence to disavow these disgusting remarks. Kaine tried and tried to get Pence to
admit that far, far too many statements of Trumps are disgusting and beyond the pale. Pence lied and failed.

Now he really needs to if he wants to run for President...

The unraveling of Donald Trump. Done in by utterances 12 years ago. When's the last time someone talked about economic issues of foreign policy?

It does feel like every rock was turned over for Republican candidates, e.g. Rubio's boat and speeding tickets, quotes of Cruz's father, etc., yet little is said about Dem candidates, e.g. bullets over Bosnia, travelgate. It's almost as if .........oh, nevermind. Many remember the Clinton presidency with fondness, ignoring any misogynist activities. Have any Democrats refused to take the stage with Bill?

The country will soon trend toward looking like Chicago, politically speaking.

Also, if you watch the soap opera scene the woman in purple did with Donald, you see her throw herself at him and he says "No", the ultimate insult to a beautiful woman. But the outrage directed at Donald is that he says women throw themselves at him and he can therefore do what he wants.

hillary's immigration plan will make the african-american voter block irrelevant. ditto for the working people's vote.

this is their plan. a future where every presidential election pits two socialists against each other.

meanwhile the progressive mainstream media is working very hard to put all the focus on trump's locker room talk.

this election is looking a lot like 1860 where American makes a decisive break in one direction or the other. Duty Now for the Future!

Perhaps Clinton needs to disavow the endorsement from the guy who wrote this in an essay: "A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously."

Your problem, Ann, is that you realize that at all costs Hillary Clinton must be kept from the White House, but this unpleasantness has just arisen and it's, well, unpleasant. You know you are being tricked and manipulated, poisoned with agitprop, even as you feel the poison working. But it is wounding to your amour propre to merely accept it, you will feel like Nina Burleigh looked.

So, you are casting about for a way that you, and hopefully others, can rationalize this, so that its lack of ultimate substance can be processed and outweigh its superficial characteristics.

You realize in your deeper intellects that this is howlingly unfair to Trump. You perceive that we are all a hot mic and an ex-friend away from doom. You know this has to be surmounted, for the good of all. Trump is up against somebody who has no hot mics, who has the FBI smashing her hot mics for her.

If it was your son who had done this would you cast him into the fire? Or would you chastise him, perhaps, and then forgive him?

The very same Democrats who are appalled by Trump's womanizing are fans of Bill Clinton and John Kennedy. Trump isn't running for pope.

Re Arianne Zucker - not my type. But I can see Trump going there.
She does seem, from her online pictures, something other than a demure lass.

Most women wouldn't mind being raped if they knew beforehand that they would not be killed or harmed. And the rapist was handsome.

And would give them money afterward.

And cuddle.

Oddly, this whole think actually gives Trump a legit excuse to bring up Bill and his "Bimbos":

HRC: By his disgusting words and vile treatment of women, Donald Trump has shown himself to be utterly unfit to be the President.

DJT: It's true I was a boor and a jerk, and I am sorry for that - yet if that makes me unfit for the White House, why does Hillary want to put a man who diddled the help, groped staffers and was accused of rape back into the White House?

@ Diogenes of Sinope - this is what Scott Adams (Dilbert) tweeted:

Trump's bid for Sainthood officially ended today. I think he's still available for Kennedy-type jobs

So this is a tortuous elaboration of Quod licet Jovi non licet bovi. At his level and in his circles, things are different.

Funny how his comments were unexpurgated. Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Great comment by Bad Lieutenant.

But if we are going to get into the private sex comments and sexual history of the candidates let's do the same for Hillary. Her own husband said, "She's eaten more pussy than I have."

Hillary is a sick, sick person in a sham marriage. But more importantly she's taken bribes from foreign countries and Wall Street to do their bidding.

Well, most women should be thankful for testosterone. Testosterone obscures a lot of female unattractiveness. We don't have to waste any tears on pretty women.

Re Nancy O'Dell -

Not conventionally beautiful, and not my type either.
I don't know what the attraction was re Trump, does not seem like his usual interest.
Anyway, a victorious Trump is going to have a long and fruitful relationship with the National Enquirer.

I am seeing deficiencies in US political culture vis a vis Spanish, French and Italian politicians. And Filipino ones for that matter. Berlusconi would laugh. Sarkozy would smirk. Duterte would glower. Aznar would look blankly.

Well, I have had the women throwing themselves at me problem.
This can be rather disconcerting if one is young.
We mestizos have a reputation for arrogance and rudeness, but we tend to be handsome devils.

Strangely, it has solved itself with time. I guess women in general have become more mature. Yes, that must be it.

Never understood the concept of the zipless fuck.

Is it fucking without taking off your pants?

Is it a fuck without any zip?

Sexual interaction without sex?

rhhardin said...

There are a few no-strings-sex romcoms, and they all end as you'd expect.

I prefer the ones where they start out as antagonistic opposites but are forced to work together owing to some unpleasant situation or other.

Feminism prefers the man loses narrative, punished for his own interest.

buwaya said...

Zipless fuck - over-analyzing women imagining what it must be like for men. Sex as purely mechanical act. Which it very often is, of course.
Erica Jong was either naive, terribly sheltered, or simply lacked observational powers. One visit to a Chinese brothel would have answered her questions for ever.

buwaya said...

Romcoms have a story, thats the point of having a romcom. But in nearly all real cases there is no story.

rhhardin said...

The townhall audience throwing their panties at Trump would send a mixed message.

rhhardin said...

Romcoms not only have a story but have three acts, which is something you have to sit through.

The eventual drift of the story is its truth value.

rhhardin said...

Women's romcoms have fatal diseases, tears and weddings. This is part of the playing with dolls culture.

Psota, I daresay it is a fuck out of time, without consequences, without implications, existing only in the here and now. No getting caught, no disease or pregnancy, no relationship damage, no hurt or intent to hurt. And no sequels. No significance.

Buwaya, please flesh out your 8:57. I don't understand the reactions. Why for instance would Duterte glower? He would be mad at Trump?

People will react emotionally in proportion to the degree and effects of sexual power in their own lives. Again, I think that is all priced in, subject to blips. They will react intellectually in proportion to the significance and effect of this news on their own lives, i.e., none.

Trump certainly needs to craft an effective reaction to this. Perhaps just as Hillary Clinton needs a Tea Leoni to make her look good as Madam Secretary, Donald Trump now needs a Kerri Washington type fixer to make this Scandal go away.

P.S. The body count on Trump remains at zero. Public funds stolen, lost, misappropriated by Trump is zero. Damage to the United States by his life and career, zero.

Asses pinched, maybe he's got the edge on her, personally. As far as we know. Hubby/consigliere/puppetmaster Bill still leaves him and most mortals in the shade.

And she connived at it. If Trump was married to Hillary Clinton, she would have made sure this recording never surfaced and no one testified.

If she had said about Bill Clinton's pecadillos - not to harp on the nature of his vile acts as some like to do - what she said about Trump, and if she had followed up with action to divorce, Bill and Hill would have had an interrupted career with no second acts.

And a man like Trump would have not been possible. Or necessary, as he is today.

buwaya said...

Re Duterte et al-I guess I should have clarified.
Their reactions should such a matter come up in their cases.
Duterte would glower - because of the absurd presumption of the thing. Duh, do you mean to imply that he can't say what he wants? He, who commands death squads? Tanga !
The man glowers.

Bad Lieutenant said...

Thanks buwaya, that's what I figured.

So much of what is known about the Clintons, was known before 1992. And yet the same players leapt to defend them.

Oh BS Ann. She didn't hear what was just said, so don't assume she is ok with it. She was sent out by the producers of her soap opera and network (cross promo) to welcome those two onto the set. She didn't want to answer, but on camera she very diplomatically said she would date them both to be kind. She put herself in the middle so all were on camera. She did her job.

I read my Erica Jong. I know my Erica Jong. And you, Althouse, are missing completely the point of Erica Jong.

When the novel's heroine, on a train ride, was presented with a perfect opportunity to engage in a zipless fuck, she refused violently. And only after fighting off her free-range-sexuality paramour did she realize she had completely vitiated, abjured and repudiated her zipless philosophy.

And she was OK with that. Because a zipless fuck is not much more than two people masturbating at the same time in the same place, and yuck to that for its messy nihilism.

I don't know if it's true that Billy Bush spilled the beans on Trump and the bus but Trump is walking away and Bush just lost his job and isn't that just too bad. I started this election season with a great deal of respect and even affection for the Bush clan and man are my eyes being opened!
